Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte—In a decisive move against illegal drugs, the Cabadbaran City Police Station, in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), successfully seized illegal drugs, locally known as “shabu,” in an anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Purok 3, Barangay Sanghan, Cabadbaran City, on January 19, 2025.
PCOL April Mark C. Young, Provincial Director of the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO), disclosed that the operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals classified as High-Value Individuals (HVIs). The suspects were identified as alias “Rodolfo,” a 62-year-old laborer from Purok 1, Barangay Tiniwisan, Butuan City, and alias “Ruel,” a 34-year-old resident of Purok 3-D, Ampayon, Butuan City.
The operation was carried out through a buy-bust scheme by the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of Cabadbaran CPS, with full coordination with PDEA-ADN. Representatives from the Department of Justice, local media, and barangay officials served as witnesses to ensure the integrity of the procedure.
The apprehended individuals were informed of their constitutional rights in a language they understood and are now under the custody of the Cabadbaran City Police Station. They face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.
PCOL Young commended the efforts of law enforcement and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in combating illegal drugs.
“The arrests of these drug traders and the confiscation of substantial quantities of illegal substances are the direct result of the relentless efforts of law enforcement to combat the use and sale of prohibited drugs. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the vigilant citizens who have played a crucial role in helping us track down and apprehend these lawless individuals,” said PCOL Young.
This operation underscores the police force’s ongoing commitment to creating a drug-free community, ensuring peace and order for the residents of Agusan del Norte.
