CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte — An ambulance driver employed by the Cabadbaran City Hall was arrested during a police buy-bust operation conducted inside a government facility, raising serious concerns over illegal drug activities within public service spaces.

Authorities identified the suspect as Randolph Sususco, an adult resident of Barangay Puting Bato. He was apprehended in an anti-drug operation carried out within the premises of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRMC) office in the same barangay.

The operation, led by personnel under Police Lieutenant Colonel Edsel Caramonte, resulted in the confiscation of 10 sachets of suspected shabu and marked money amounting to ₱1,000 from the suspect’s possession.

According to police reports, the transaction was successfully executed after an undercover operative was able to purchase illegal drugs from Sususco, prompting authorities to immediately effect his arrest.

The suspect is currently detained at the Cabadbaran City Police Station while authorities prepare charges against him for violations of Sections 5 (sale of illegal drugs) and 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police officials underscored the gravity of the incident, noting that the suspect is a government employee entrusted with emergency response duties. They emphasized that involvement in illegal drug activities, especially within a public facility, is a serious breach of public trust.

Investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspect acted alone or if there are other individuals involved in the illegal drug trade within the area.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensify anti-drug operations, particularly targeting individuals who exploit their positions in government service to engage in criminal activities.
