Davao City, Philippines — The City Government of Davao has announced temporary road closures across key streets in preparation for the upcoming National Peace Rally of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), scheduled on January 13, 2025. The closures, approved during the 1st Regular Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod on January 7, 2025, are outlined in Resolution No. 04020-25 and Ordinance No. 0735-25, both Series of 2025.

The closures are scheduled as follows:

  1. Partial Road Closure:
    • When: January 11, 2025, 9:00 PM to January 13, 2025, 7:59 AM
    • Where: Sections of San Pedro, C.M. Recto, C. Bangoy, Iñigo, Pelayo, Bolton, and Rizal Streets to facilitate setup.
  2. Full Road Closure:
    • When: January 13, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
    • Where:
      • Full stretches of San Pedro, C.M. Recto, C. Bangoy, Iñigo, Pelayo, Bolton, Rizal, Ilustre, Bonifacio, and Palma Gil Streets.
      • Coastal Road, from Bago Aplaya entrance to Tulip Drive exit, will be utilized for parking purposes.

This event marks a significant gathering aimed at promoting peace nationwide. The ordinance is pending final approval by the Office of the City Mayor but has already received widespread attention.
