Davao de Oro, Philippines – December 28, 2024
The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office has intensified its anti-drug campaign, achieving significant results in a single day through a series of coordinated buy-bust operations. The operations, conducted across the province, led to the arrest of five individuals and the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at over ₱41,300.
In a statement, authorities confirmed that three suspects were apprehended in Mabini, one in Maco, and another in Pantukan. Collectively, the operations yielded 6.0736 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱41,300.48, calculated based on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) standard drug pricing.
“This is part of our relentless effort to combat illegal drugs and ensure the safety and well-being of our communities,” said Provincial Police Director Col. [Insert Full Name], who spearheaded the initiative. He praised the dedication of law enforcement personnel and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in addressing the drug menace.
Community involvement remains a cornerstone of the police’s strategy, as authorities reiterated their appeal to residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. “The fight against illegal drugs requires a united front,” Col. [Name] added. “We urge everyone to be proactive in helping us build a safer, drug-free Davao de Oro.”
The latest crackdown aligns with the provincial police’s broader commitment to the national government’s intensified anti-drug campaign. It also highlights the role of intelligence-driven operations and community partnerships in disrupting illegal drug activities.
Meanwhile, the arrested suspects are now in police custody and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165). If convicted, they could face severe penalties, including life imprisonment.
As Davao de Oro continues its journey toward becoming a drug-free province, the success of such operations underscores the critical need for sustained collaboration between law enforcement and the community. Residents are encouraged to report drug-related activities to the local authorities through official hotlines and channels.
