MAWAB, Davao de Oro — Anti-narcotics operatives from the Davao de Oro Provincial Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI (PDEA RO XI), in coordination with the Mawab Municipal Police Station, successfully arrested a high-value drug personality and seized more than ₱364,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Mawab town.

The operation was conducted at approximately 3:27 a.m. on June 9, 2026, in Km. 6, Purok 1, Barangay Salvacion, Mawab, Davao de Oro.
Authorities identified the suspect only by his alias, “Mack-Mack,” a 32-year-old resident who had reportedly been under surveillance for alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
According to PDEA, the suspect was apprehended after allegedly selling a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth ₱7,000 to an undercover operative acting as a poseur-buyer.
Following the transaction, law enforcement agents immediately arrested the suspect and conducted a search, leading to the recovery of additional suspected illegal drugs and other evidence linked to the operation.
Seized from the suspect were five additional heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a combined estimated weight of 52 grams. Authorities placed the estimated street value of the confiscated drugs at approximately ₱364,000.
Operatives also recovered the marked buy-bust money used during the operation and confiscated a motorcycle allegedly utilized by the suspect in his illegal drug transactions.
The arrest forms part of the government’s intensified anti-illegal drug campaign aimed at dismantling local drug networks and preventing the proliferation of dangerous drugs in communities across Davao de Oro and neighboring areas.
PDEA officials emphasized that operations targeting high-value individuals involved in the illegal drug trade remain a priority as authorities continue to strengthen intelligence-driven enforcement efforts.
The suspect is currently under the custody of authorities while the seized pieces of evidence undergo proper documentation and laboratory examination.
Criminal charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended, are being prepared for filing before the prosecutor’s office against the arrested suspect.
Authorities reiterated their call for public cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs, urging residents to report suspicious activities and support law enforcement efforts to keep communities safe from the harmful effects of narcotics.
