NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro — Authorities dismantled an alleged drug den and arrested seven suspected drug personalities during a late-night buy-bust operation in Purok 5, Barangay Poblacion, marking another anti-drug enforcement effort in the province.

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao de Oro Provincial Office, working with the Nabunturan Municipal Police Station, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Davao de Oro Provincial Mobile Force Company, carried out the operation in Nabunturan on Thursday evening.
Authorities identified the alleged drug den maintainer only by the alias “Omie,” 42, who was arrested after reportedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu weighing about five grams with an estimated value of ₱35,000 to an undercover PDEA poseur-buyer.
Also apprehended during the operation was an alleged employee of the drug den, known by the alias “Gonggong,” along with five alleged visitors identified by their aliases as “Cesar,” “Banban,” “Jefferson,” “Leting,” and “Redem.”
During the raid, law enforcement officers confiscated six sachets of suspected shabu with a combined weight of around 130 grams, with an estimated street value of about ₱1.04 million. Assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked buy-bust money used in the operation were also recovered at the scene.
Authorities said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the province. The dismantling of suspected drug dens is considered a significant step in disrupting local drug distribution networks and preventing the proliferation of illegal substances in communities.
The arrested individuals are currently under the custody of authorities and are set to face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
Officials reiterated their call for continued public cooperation, urging residents to report suspicious activities that may be linked to illegal drug operations as law enforcement agencies intensify their campaign against narcotics across Davao de Oro.
