Mindanao Braces for Adverse Weather Conditions

Mindanao, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a regional weather forecast for Mindanao, highlighting various weather disturbances that could bring rain and thunderstorms across the region today, December 23, 2024.

Weather Synopsis

The Shear Line is affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas, while the Northeast Monsoon influences the rest of Luzon. Meanwhile, a Tropical Depression located approximately 620 km southwest of Kalayaan Islands is moving north-northeast at 20 km/h, with sustained winds of 55 km/h and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. This system’s trough is contributing to unstable weather in parts of Mindanao.
