DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Two men were arrested in a joint anti-drug operation in Barangay Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City, before dawn on October 28, 2026, after police operatives allegedly caught one of them selling illegal drugs in a police-controlled transaction.

The operation, conducted at approximately 4:46 a.m. in Purok 8, Bacalso, Barangay Catalunan Pequeño, resulted in the seizure of approximately 22 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug value of ₱149,600.
Police identified the two arrested individuals as aliases “Badi,” 22, and his 28-year-old male companion. Both are reportedly residents of Barangay Mandug, Davao City. Investigators identified the younger suspect as the alleged drug seller who transacted with an undercover police operative during the buy-bust operation.
Personnel of Police Station 17 (Baliok), under the supervision of acting station commander Police Major Fil Anthony D. Manlatican, led the operation with support from the 2nd City Mobile Force Company (2nd CMFC) and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region XI.
Following their arrest, the two suspects were brought to Police Station 17 for documentation and appropriate legal proceedings. Authorities have yet to provide further details regarding the specific charges filed against them.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) City Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria commended the operating units for the successful operation, emphasizing the police office’s commitment to sustained, intelligence-driven anti-illegal drug campaigns.
The Baliok police also credited the continued cooperation between law enforcement personnel and the community for helping strengthen efforts to suppress the illegal drug trade in Davao City.
The operation underscores the continuing campaign against street-level drug distribution in the city, with authorities targeting individuals allegedly involved in the sale and circulation of prohibited substances.
The seized substance remains suspected shabu pending the appropriate laboratory examination. The allegations against the arrested individuals remain subject to judicial proceedings, and they are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
