ZAMBOANGA CITY — August 30, 2026 — A joint anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Zamboanga City (PDEA-ZCO) and other law enforcement units resulted in the dismantling of an alleged drug den and the arrest of three suspected drug personalities, including the alleged maintainer of the facility, at Ruste Drive, Barangay San Roque, on Saturday afternoon.
The operation was carried out by PDEA-ZCO in coordination with the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU-ZCO), headed by PLt. Rey A. Chang, the Tactical Support Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (TSC-RMFB 9), and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team of the 1st Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company (1st ZCMFC).
Authorities described the operation as successful, with the joint team recovering approximately 11 grams of suspected shabu during the anti-drug operation.
The confiscated substance was placed at an estimated value of ₱74,800, according to the initial information provided by authorities. The reported amount includes the value attributed to the seized suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and other drug-related evidence and paraphernalia recovered during the operation.
Three suspects arrested
Three individuals were arrested during the operation. Authorities identified one of them as the alleged maintainer of the drug den, while the other two were reportedly arrested as companions or alleged occupants involved in the drug activity being targeted by law enforcement.
The operation reportedly stemmed from intelligence and law-enforcement efforts targeting suspected illegal drug activities in the area.
