VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon — Authorities have launched an investigation after a 26-year-old massage therapist and member of the LGBTQ+ community filed a complaint against their live-in partner for alleged physical assault in Valencia City, Bukidnon.
The complaint was formally lodged at the Valencia City Police Station at around 10:20 a.m. on July 14, 2026, where the victim sought police assistance following the alleged incident.
To protect the identities of those involved, authorities identified the complainant only by an alias. The victim, a 26-year-old massage therapist, accused their live-in partner—also a massage therapist and a resident of Purok 14, Barangay Poblacion, Valencia City—of repeatedly assaulting them during a heated domestic argument.
According to the victim’s statement, the suspect allegedly punched and physically attacked them several times, causing multiple bruises and injuries on different parts of the body. The victim further claimed that the suspect was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.
The complainant also told investigators that the suspect reportedly becomes aggressive whenever intoxicated, particularly when their demands or wishes are not followed.
Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and to gather additional evidence that may support the filing of appropriate charges.
Based on the initial complaint, the suspect may face a Physical Injury case, subject to the results of the ongoing investigation and the medical findings regarding the victim’s injuries.
The incident highlights that domestic violence can affect individuals regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
