CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Police arrested a 53-year-old man identified as a high-value individual (HVI) and seized nearly 285 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately ₱1.9 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro City.

The operation was carried out by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (CDEU-COCPO), resulting in the arrest of Rogelio Caballes Calago, also known by the alias “Roger,” a resident of Zone 1, Barangay Bayabas.

According to the police report, the suspect was arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover operative during the anti-illegal drug operation.

Following the transaction, operatives recovered 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 284.76 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱1.9 million, according to the COCPO.

The confiscation represents a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, taken off the streets of Cagayan de Oro as authorities continue their campaign against illegal drugs.

The COCPO reported that Calago was placed under the custody of the City Drug Enforcement Unit for proper disposition and further legal proceedings.
