MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — A 33-year-old man was found dead inside his residence in Barangay 6, Malaybalay City on June 2, with authorities indicating that the incident may have been a case of self-inflicted harm.

The victim, identified only by the alias “Dodong,” a bachelor and resident of the area, was discovered at around 10:30 a.m. inside his home in Purok 2, Barangay 6.
According to a report from local police, a woman went to the police station at approximately 10:40 a.m. to report the discovery of a lifeless body inside the victim’s residence. She also informed authorities that the victim had reportedly been missing since May 27, 2026.
Responding officers who arrived at the scene found the victim’s body already in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating that he may have been dead for several days before being discovered.
Initial police investigation revealed that the victim sustained an injury on his left arm, which authorities believe was self-inflicted using a piece of broken glass recovered from the area.
Investigators also recovered a handwritten note at the scene, which allegedly expressed the victim’s intention to end his own life.
Based on the initial findings, police said there were no signs of forced entry, struggle, or any indication of foul play surrounding the man’s death.
Authorities continue to document and process the incident in accordance with standard procedures while awaiting the completion of any further examinations deemed necessary.
