CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Authorities intensified their crackdown against illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao after two separate anti-drug operations conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10 (PDEA-10) led to the dismantling of two suspected drug dens and the arrest of seven drug personalities, including a pregnant woman, in Cagayan de Oro City.

In a statement, PDEA-10 said the operations were carried out in coordination with various units of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion as part of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and criminality.

The first operation was conducted at around 5:35 p.m. on May 5, 2026, in Block 4, Ramonal Village, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City. The joint buy-bust operation was spearheaded by the PDEA-10 Regional Special Enforcement Team in coordination with the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) Police Station 2.

Authorities dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested three individuals identified only by their aliases as “Toy,” 33, male; “Tetel,” 33, female; and “Nica,” 40, female. One of the arrested women was reportedly pregnant at the time of the operation.

Recovered during the raid were six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately five grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of PHP34,000. Also confiscated were assorted drug paraphernalia and equipment, a stainless steel blade, an Android cellular phone, and marked buy-bust money.

Less than 24 hours later, another anti-drug operation was launched at around 2:35 p.m. on May 6, 2026, in Zone 5, Barangay Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City.

The operation was conducted by operatives from the PDEA Cagayan de Oro City–Misamis Oriental Provincial Office in coordination with COCPO Police Station 4, the COCPO Criminal Investigation Branch, and the 1001st Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

The raid resulted in the arrest of four more drug personalities identified as aliases “Jac,” 21, female; “Fe,” 65, female; “Jo,” 65, male; and “Mac,” 32, male.

Authorities seized eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around 35 grams with an estimated street value of PHP238,000. Several drug paraphernalia were also recovered, including aluminum foil with traces of suspected shabu, an improvised bamboo clipper, two pouches, a black ID holder, an Android phone, and marked buy-bust money.

PDEA-10 Regional Director Alex M. Tablate personally identified the arrested suspects and emphasized the agency’s commitment to dismantling drug dens and pursuing individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

Combined, authorities confiscated approximately 40 grams of suspected shabu worth around PHP272,000 during the two operations.

The seven suspects are now facing charges for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, and 15 under Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities said the successful operations highlight the continuing collaboration between PDEA and law enforcement agencies in suppressing illegal drug activities and protecting communities from the harmful effects of narcotics.
