The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms across Mindanao on Sunday, March 29, due to the prevailing easterlies.

In its 5:00 a.m. regional weather bulletin, PAGASA said the weather system will affect the entire Mindanao island from 5:00 a.m. Sunday until 5:00 a.m. Monday, with potential hazards including flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Winds across the region are expected to be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.5 to 1.8 meters.

Zamboanga Peninsula

In Zamboanga City and the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay, as well as Isabela City, residents can expect similar weather conditions—partly cloudy skies becoming cloudy at times with rainshowers or thunderstorms throughout the day and night.

Temperatures in these areas will range from 23°C to 34°C during the day and slightly cooler at night.

Northern Mindanao

In Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, the same weather pattern will prevail, with temperatures ranging between 18°C and 33°C.

Davao Region

Across the Davao Region, including Davao City (Metro Davao), Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, residents should also expect scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, with daytime temperatures peaking at 36°C in some areas.

SOCCSKSARGEN and Caraga

In the SOCCSKSARGEN region, covering North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, similar weather conditions are expected, with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 34°C.

Meanwhile, in the Caraga region, including Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, residents are likewise advised to prepare for possible thunderstorms.

BARMM Areas

In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, weather conditions will remain generally the same, with occasional rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Advisory

PAGASA warned that while most areas will experience generally fair weather, localized thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.

The agency advised the public, particularly those in disaster-prone communities, to remain vigilant and monitor updates as weather conditions may change rapidly.
