A suspected high-value drug personality was arrested by anti-narcotics operatives during a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of illegal drugs worth ₱3.4 million on Thursday afternoon, March 5, in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Authorities identified the suspect as a priority target in the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs. The operation was carried out at around 1:40 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion 2 by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 13 – Agusan del Norte Provincial Office, with support from the Buenavista Municipal Police Station and the PDEA Regional Office 13’s Legal and Prosecution Unit.
During the operation, operatives successfully conducted a controlled purchase that resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the confiscation of five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Authorities said the suspected illegal drugs weighed approximately 500 grams with an estimated street value of ₱3,400,000 based on the standard drug price.
Also recovered from the suspect were the marked buy-bust money used during the operation and a black Android mobile phone, which investigators believe may contain information related to the suspect’s alleged drug transactions and possible network.
The suspect is currently under the custody of authorities and will face charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Law enforcement officials reiterated their commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against illegal drug activities across the region, emphasizing that high-value targets and major suppliers remain a priority.
Authorities also urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities in their communities, noting that community support is crucial in dismantling drug networks and maintaining peace and order.
