GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Popular content creator and vlogger known as “Thailand Girl” (TG) was involved in a reported commotion inside a bar in Barangay Lagao, General Santos City, on the night of January 4, 2026, prompting police intervention and an ongoing investigation.
According to initial police reports, TG was present during a heated altercation inside the establishment that escalated into a public disturbance. Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and brought TG to the police station for proper documentation and inquiry.
Videos of the incident quickly circulated on social media, showing a tense confrontation that allegedly resulted in injuries to another individual involved. In the viral clips and subsequent online posts, TG expressed strong opposition to what she described as bullying and disrespect, particularly toward individuals she said were being targeted because of their social status.
“Hindi porket tahimik sa personal ay puwedeng bastusin,” TG said in one of her statements, adding that she reacted after allegedly being insulted by an intoxicated person. She further claimed that some of those involved initially refused to go to the police station because they were aware of their own fault.
The incident sparked mixed reactions online. Some netizens criticized TG, questioning her behavior and arguing that, as a public figure with a large following, she should exercise restraint and set a better example. Others expressed support, agreeing with her stance against bullying and saying her actions reflected a broader issue of discrimination and harassment in social spaces.
Authorities have yet to release further details on the General Santos City incident, and it remains unclear whether formal charges will be filed. Police said statements from all parties are still being evaluated.
Not the First Controversy
This is not the first time the vlogger has been involved in a legal or public controversy.
In August 2025, TG—identified by police as Jeren Jude Bacas Nebit, 28—was arrested in Barangay Morales, Koronadal City, over a pending case of online libel. The arrest was carried out by joint elements of the Koronadal City Police Station, San Pedro Police Station in Davao City, and the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) 12.
The warrant of arrest was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 52 in Davao City for alleged violations of Section 4(c)(4) of Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. The court recommended bail of ₱48,000, which the accused was able to post.
Police said TG was informed of her constitutional rights during the arrest and subsequently awaited further court orders.
Law enforcement authorities have repeatedly reminded the public that while freedom of expression is protected under the Constitution, it must be exercised responsibly—particularly on digital platforms where content can spread rapidly and have lasting impact.
As of press time, police said investigations into the recent General Santos City bar incident are ongoing.
