DAVAO CITY — A 55-year-old man was found dead after he was brutally stabbed inside a boarding house at Block 3, Spring Valley, Barangay Buhangin on the night of December 28, 2025.
Police said they received a call from Central 911 at around 8:05 p.m. reporting the stabbing incident. Initial investigation revealed that a 74-year-old caretaker witnessed one of the suspects — identified only by the alias “Long Hair,” 52 — hastily exiting the boarding house and walking away toward an unknown direction.
The victim, identified by authorities as “Manny,” married and a renter of the establishment, was discovered lifeless inside his room. According to the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), he sustained multiple stab wounds to the neck, back, and chest which caused his instantaneous death.
Recovered from the crime scene were a knife believed to have been used in the attack and a sling bag containing cash, ID cards, headphones, and other personal belongings of the victim.
A follow-up police operation led to the arrest of two suspects — alias “Long Hair” and another identified as alias “Nilo.” Both are now under police custody and will undergo proper legal procedures.
The victim’s body is set for autopsy as investigators work to determine the exact motive behind the brutal killing.
Authorities vowed to ensure swift justice for the victim and his family as they continue to piece together what led to the deadly attack inside what was supposed to be a place of safety.
