DAVAO CITY — A 36-year-old delivery rider was stabbed from behind by a woman on Sunday night, March 1, 2026, in an alley in Purok 11, Washington, Barangay 39-D in Davao City, according to a police report.

Authorities identified the victim only by the alias “Mav,” a delivery worker who had just arrived in the area at around 9:00 p.m. when the incident occurred. The suspect, identified by the alias “Hazel,” 40, allegedly approached the victim and suddenly stabbed him in the back without warning.

Police said the attack happened quickly in the narrow alley, prompting residents to alert authorities after witnessing the commotion. Responding officers immediately conducted an operation that led to the swift arrest of the suspect shortly after the stabbing.

The injured delivery rider was rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center for medical treatment. Medical personnel later reported that the victim is now in stable condition and out of immediate danger.

Investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack, as police said details surrounding the cause of the stabbing were not disclosed. Authorities are continuing their investigation to establish what led to the incident and whether there was a prior dispute between the two individuals.
