DON CARLOS, Bukidnon — Five individuals identified as members of the Milisya ng Bayan (MB) under the dismantled Sub-Regional Committee (SRC) 2, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC), formally surrendered to authorities on Sunday afternoon, December 28, 2025.

The voluntary surrender transpired around 12:30 p.m. at the headquarters of the Bukidnon 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in Purok Mauswagon, Barangay Pinamaloy, Don Carlos, through an intelligence-driven operation involving multiple police units.

The operation was spearheaded by PMAJ Jessie James M. Lasdoce, Acting Force Commander of Bukidnon 2nd PMFC, in coordination with Don Carlos Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 10, 1003rd Company of RMFB 10, Malaybalay City Police Station, Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit, and Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Team.

Authorities identified the surrenderers—known only by their aliases for security reasons—as:

  1. Alias “CWL”, 51, male, farmer, married, resident of Purok 6, Barangay Indalasa, Malaybalay City. He surrendered one carbine rifle without a serial number and with damaged markings.
  2. Alias “Sensio”, 22, male, farmer, single with a live-in partner, also from Purok 6, Barangay Indalasa. He yielded a homemade shotgun loaded with a live round, likewise lacking serial numbers and markings.
  3. Alias “Jeny”, 20, female, farmer, single with a live-in partner, resident of the same barangay.
  4. Alias “Ing”, 76, female, farmer, widow, resident of Purok 6, Barangay Indalasa.
  5. Alias “Nori”, 46, female, farmer, married, from Purok 6, Barangay Indalasa.

Police said the surrender is a direct result of sustained intelligence operations and ongoing efforts to convince remnants of insurgent groups to return to the fold of the law.

The former militia members are now under the custody of Bukidnon 2nd PMFC intelligence operatives for debriefing and profiling. Meanwhile, the surrendered firearms have been turned over to the unit’s supply officer for proper documentation and disposition.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to peace and security in Bukidnon and encouraged remaining rebels to abandon the armed struggle and reintegrate peacefully into society.
