DAVAO CITY — Police in San Fernando, Bukidnon are now working to identify the individuals behind the abandoned mineral ores seized during an intelligence-driven monitoring operation in Purok 3, Barangay Dao on Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025.

The San Fernando Municipal Police Station reported that officers discovered at least ten sacks of mineral ores—estimated to have a market value of around P35,000—left unattended in the area. Authorities strongly believe the ores originated from the mountainous portion of Sitio Singansingan in the same barangay, an area already under close watch due to reports of illegal mining activities.

Police said their heightened operations are part of the ongoing effort to suppress unauthorized and destructive mining in Bukidnon’s upland communities.

In accordance with environmental laws, the confiscated ores have already been formally turned over to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for proper verification, examination, and documentation.

Authorities vowed that investigations will continue to trace the owners of the seized mineral ores and hold them accountable for violating the country’s mining and environmental regulations.

Police also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious mining-related activities that threaten the environment and the welfare of local communities.
