SUMILAO, Bukidnon — A 45-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being struck on the head with a rock by his drinking companion past midnight on December 21, 2025, in Purok 3, Barangay Kisolon, Sumilao.
The victim, identified only as alias “Dante,” sustained serious head injuries and is currently under medical supervision, with doctors considering possible surgery. The suspect, 37-year-old alias “Tano,” also a local resident, was immediately apprehended by the Sumilao Municipal Police Station following the incident.
Police reports indicate that both men were drinking together when a heated argument erupted. In the course of the altercation, Tano picked up a rock from the roadside and struck Dante on the head, causing severe injuries.
The suspect has admitted to the assault and is now in police custody pending appropriate charges. Authorities continue to monitor the victim’s condition as the investigation proceeds.
