KIDAPAWAN CITY — Authorities confiscated an estimated Php354,960 worth of suspected shabu in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 12 (RPDEU 12) early Sunday morning, October 6, 2025, in Barangay Lanao, Kidapawan City, Cotabato.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Homran,” 26 years old, married, unemployed, and a resident of Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, was arrested during the sting operation held around 5:01 a.m. along Maglan Road, Purok 4C, Barangay Lanao, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Seized from the suspect were one small sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.2 grams, which served as the buy-bust item, and ten large sachets containing a total of 52 grams of suspected shabu. The confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php354,960. Authorities also recovered the Php1,000 marked money used in the operation.
An inventory of the seized evidence was conducted at the scene in the presence of barangay officials and a media representative, in compliance with procedural requirements.
The confiscated items were turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit in Kidapawan City for laboratory examination, while the suspect is now under the custody of the Kidapawan City Police Station. He will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) Regional Director PBGen Arnold P. Ardiente commended the RPDEU 12 for the successful operation, emphasizing that it reflects the Philippine National Police’s unwavering campaign against illegal drugs under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative.
“This operation shows our continued determination to rid our communities of illegal drugs and protect the next generation from its destructive effects,” Ardiente said.
