August 29, 2025 – Mindanao — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of possible flash floods and landslides in parts of Mindanao as the Southwest Monsoon continues to affect the region.

In its 5:00 a.m. regional forecast, PAGASA said Zamboanga Peninsula and the Dinagat Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Moderate to heavy rains may trigger flooding and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.

The rest of Mindanao, including Northern Mindanao, the Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may also cause localized flooding and landslides.

Winds across Mindanao will be light to moderate, blowing from the south to southwest, with coastal waters expected to remain slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
