MINDANAO – Residents across Mindanao are advised to brace for partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms today, August 5, due to localized thunderstorms. According to the latest forecast from PAGASA-MINPRSD issued at 5:00 AM, there is a risk of flash floods and landslides, especially in areas affected by severe thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to west, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.5 meters).
Zamboanga Peninsula
Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with possible rainshowers or thunderstorms throughout the day and night. Daytime temperatures may reach up to 34°C, cooling down to lows of 24–25°C by night.
Northern Mindanao
Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also see generally fair weather, but isolated thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon or evening. Temperatures will range from 20°C to 33°C during the day and may dip to 20°C to 25°C overnight.
Davao Region
Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental can expect partly cloudy skies becoming cloudy at times with scattered thunderstorms. Maximum daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 34°C, dropping to 24–26°C at night.
SOCCSKSARGEN
North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will experience similar conditions with daytime highs of 32–33°C and overnight lows around 24–25°C. Thunderstorm activity may be more frequent in the afternoon and evening.
Caraga Region
Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands are forecast to have warm daytime conditions with temperatures up to 35°C, but rainshowers or thunderstorms may develop later in the day. Evening lows will range between 24°C and 26°C.
Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)
Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are also under the same partly cloudy to cloudy outlook with isolated thunderstorms. Daytime highs may reach up to 34°C, with nighttime lows around 22°C to 25°C. Residents in these areas are urged to remain alert for sudden weather changes that may trigger flash floods or landslides.

PAGASA warns that although most areas will experience generally fair weather, thunderstorms may cause localized heavy rainfall that could lead to hazards. The public is advised to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions, especially those living in low-lying or mountainous areas.
