Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental — July 21, 2025 — A coordinated anti-drug operation led by the Gingoog City Police Station resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old male suspect and the seizure of approximately 18 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱122,400.
The buy-bust operation was carried out on the evening of July 19, 2025, at 8:15 PM in Barangay 24, Gingoog City. The operation was spearheaded by PLTCOL Dennis G. Delos Santos, Officer-in-Charge of Gingoog CPS, along with personnel from the City Drug Enforcement Team (CDET), the 1st Misamis Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and the 1001st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 (RMFB 10).
The suspect, a single resident of Barangay 1, Barangay 25 in the city, was arrested for violations of Sections 5, 11, 12, and 15 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities recovered the following items from the suspect:
- One (1) buy-bust item: a heat-sealed sachet containing white crystalline substance
- Nine (9) additional sachets containing suspected shabu
- Two (2) large sachets of suspected shabu
- One (1) ₱500 marked buy-bust bill
- Drug paraphernalia, including aluminum foil improvised gutter and tooter, scoop made of black straw, a disposable lighter with a foil needle, and a coin purse
PLTCOL Delos Santos credited the successful operation to the seamless coordination and commitment of law enforcement teams involved.
“This operation is a testament to our ongoing and strong anti-drug campaign, and our desire to strengthen security and order in our province. Coordinated, disciplined, and fearless service to the public is the true image of a responsible police officer,” said PCOL Wilbur M. Salaguste, Provincial Director of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO).
He added that this victory is part of a broader mission to create a safer and drug-free community, urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperative: “This is not the end, but just a step towards greater peace and salvation. We ask the people to continue standing up for the poor, the innocent, and the children we are committed to protect.”
The suspect is currently under police custody while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court.
