Tagum City, Davao del Norte — July 2, 2025 — Authorities from the Tagum City Police Station and the 1st Davao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st DNPMFC) successfully apprehended three individuals in two separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted on July 1 and 2, 2025.

In the most recent operation, a suspect identified by the alias “Kay-Kay,” a 32-year-old male resident of Brgy. Magugpo South, was arrested during a buy-bust operation at around 1:54 AM on July 2 in Purok Dela Cruz, Brgy. Mankilam. The suspect sold a heat-sealed elongated plastic sachet believed to contain shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange for a marked PHP 500 bill along with four machine-copied PHP 1,000 bills. Authorities also seized a black Honda Click motorcycle allegedly used in the transaction.

The confiscated substance, weighing approximately one gram, has an estimated street value of PHP 6,800. “Kay-Kay” is now in the custody of the Tagum City Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, in an earlier operation on July 1 at around 2:17 AM in Purok 3-A, Barangay La Filipina, a bus conductor and a construction worker were also arrested. Identified as “Tata,” 40, and “Badoy,” 36, both male and residents of Tagum City, the two were caught with multiple sachets of suspected shabu.

“Tata” was caught selling a medium-sized sachet to a poseur-buyer and was also found in possession of another large sachet of the same substance. “Badoy,” on the other hand, was found carrying a medium-sized sachet, a black wallet, a small pink envelope, and a black SKYGO single motorcycle reportedly used in the transaction.

The seized illegal drugs from the two suspects weighed approximately six grams and have an estimated street value of PHP 40,800. Both are also detained at the Tagum City Police Station and are facing charges under RA 9165.
