TAGUM CITY — A 30-year-old man was arrested after authorities seized more than ₱100,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted early morning on May 31, 2026, in Barangay Canocotan, Tagum City.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Ben,” is single and a resident of Barangay Madaum, Tagum City.

According to police reports, the operation was carried out at around 2:41 a.m. by joint operatives from the Tagum City Police Station, Davao del Norte Police Intelligence Unit (DNPIU), Davao del Norte Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DNPDEU), and the 1st Davao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (DNPMFC).
Authorities said a poseur-buyer successfully purchased one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu from the suspect. The operation utilized one genuine ₱500 bill and seven machine-copied ₱1,000 bills as marked money.
Following the transaction, police immediately arrested the suspect and conducted a further search, leading to the recovery of two additional large sachets containing suspected shabu, a coin purse, and a blue Honda Click motorcycle allegedly used in the illegal activity.
The confiscated illegal drugs weighed approximately 16 grams with an estimated street value of ₱108,800 based on the standard drug price.
Police said the suspect was swiftly apprehended after completing the illegal drug transaction with the undercover operative.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Tagum City Police Station and is set to face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations in the city as part of ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of prohibited substances and maintain peace and order in the community.
