Maimbung, Sulu — In a united push for peace and community safety, five loose firearms were voluntarily surrendered to the 41st Infantry “Partner for Peace” Battalion in a symbolic ceremony held at Headquarters Alpha Company in Barangay Tabu-bato on Wednesday.
The turnover event brought together key partners in peacebuilding, including local police forces, barangay officials from Ipil, Tabu Batoh, Tandu Patong, and Kandang, as well as representatives from the municipal government of Maimbung. Their collective presence underscored a shared commitment to disarmament and long-term stability in the area.
According to the 41st Infantry Battalion, the surrender of the firearms reflects growing public trust in government-led peace and security initiatives. The Battalion emphasized that voluntary disarmament is a significant step toward fostering a safer and more progressive Sulu.
