ILIGAN CITY, May 7, 2026 — A joint anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Tomas Cabili successfully led to the arrest of two suspected drug personalities and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at over P136,000.

The operation, conducted on May 5, 2026, at approximately 10:18 PM in Purok 17, Barangay Tomas Cabili, was carried out by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) under the leadership of PMAJ Rustariel B. Both are currently detained at Iligan City Police Station 5 (ICPS5) for proper disposition and the filing of charges under Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities confiscated the following items during the operation:

  • Four small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu
  • Three pieces of ₱100 bills used as marked money
  • One coin purse
  • One digital weighing scale
  • One disposable lighter
  • One improvised tooter

The total weight of the suspected shabu is estimated at 20 grams, with a corresponding Standard Drug Price Value (SDPV) of approximately P136,000.

The inventory and documentation of the seized items were conducted on-site in the presence of Barangay Kagawad Justin B. David and media representative Desiderio Navalis, in compliance with established procedures.

This operation highlights the ongoing commitment of the Iligan City Police Office, in partnership with local government units, to cleanse barangays of the influence of illegal drugs and ensure public safety.

Authorities continue to intensify law enforcement efforts, particularly targeting individuals who have previously surrendered under the government’s Tokhang program but remain involved in drug-related activities.
