DAVAO CITY — A 36-year-old woman was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by police authorities on the afternoon of April 14, 2026, in Barangay 23-C, leading to the confiscation of suspected illegal drugs valued at ₱136,000.

The suspect, identified only by her alias “Kuting,” is a resident of Purok 5-B, Isla Verde in the same barangay. She was apprehended at around 5:42 p.m. after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer acting as a poseur buyer.

According to police reports, operatives from the Davao City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit XI and other Philippine National Police units, carried out the operation.

During the arrest, authorities recovered two sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated value of ₱136,000. Also seized were marked money used in the transaction, boodle money, a cellular phone, and a pouch believed to have been used in the illegal drug trade.

The suspect was immediately taken into police custody and is set to face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations in Davao City, emphasizing that similar enforcement actions will continue to target individuals involved in the distribution of prohibited substances.

Investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspect is part of a larger drug network operating in the area.
