PIKIT, Cotabato — A quiet neighborhood in Poblacion was shaken after unidentified suspects hurled a grenade at the residence of an Islamic teacher on the evening of March 3, authorities confirmed.

The target of the attack was the home of Ustadz Abdulfatah Mamasabulod Dalid, located along Lozada Street in the municipality of Pikit. Dalid is a teacher of religious subjects at Notre Dame of Pikit and is reportedly also a member of the Bangsamoro Communication Network Inc..

According to initial reports, the suspects—who have yet to be identified—threw the grenade at the house late in the evening, causing a loud explosion that alarmed residents in the area. The blast left the family and nearby neighbors in fear and panic, though authorities said no injuries were reported.

Responding personnel from the Philippine National Police quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area and begin an investigation into the incident. Police are currently gathering evidence and interviewing possible witnesses to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible.

Family members and colleagues of Dalid have expressed deep concern over the incident, saying the attack has left the household shaken and worried about their safety. They have called on authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those behind the grenade attack are brought to justice.

Local authorities also appealed to the public to cooperate with investigators and provide any information that may help solve the case. As of this writing, police continue to pursue leads while maintaining heightened monitoring in the area following the explosion.
