Residents across Mindanao are advised to prepare for partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours, as the easterlies continue to affect the region, according to the latest forecast issued by Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its regional weather bulletin released at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, PAGASA said the weather disturbance is expected to influence conditions until 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18.
General Weather Outlook

Most areas in Mindanao will experience intervals of sunshine and cloud cover, with occasional rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day and night. PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides, especially in low-lying, mountainous, and landslide-prone areas.
Light to moderate winds are expected to blow from the east to northeast, bringing slight to moderate sea conditions, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters. Coastal communities and small fishing vessels are advised to remain cautious.
Zamboanga Peninsula
In Zamboanga City and the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, weather conditions will remain partly cloudy to cloudy, with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms both during daytime and nighttime.
Temperatures in the region are forecast to range from 23°C to 33°C. Winds will be light to moderate from the northeast, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Northern Mindanao
Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also experience similar weather patterns, marked by cloudy intervals and isolated thunderstorms.
Temperatures may drop to as low as 19°C in Bukidnon and rise to about 31°C in coastal provinces. Moderate winds and sea conditions are expected in Camiguin and parts of Agusan and Surigao.
Davao Region
Metro Davao and the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental will see partly cloudy skies with occasional rain and thunderstorms.
Daytime temperatures in the region may reach up to 33°C, while nighttime lows may range between 23°C and 28°C. Coastal areas will continue to experience slight to moderate seas.
SOCCSKSARGEN and Caraga
North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani are forecast to have temperatures between 24°C and 34°C, with isolated rainshowers throughout the period.
Meanwhile, Caraga provinces, including Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, will experience moderate northeast winds and moderate coastal waters, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms.
BARMM Areas
In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rains.
Temperatures in the region will range from 20°C to 33°C, while winds will remain light to moderate, becoming moderate in island provinces such as Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

PAGASA, under the Department of Science and Technology (Philippines), urged the public, especially farmers, travelers, and coastal communities, to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions.
Motorists are advised to be alert for slippery roads, while residents in flood- and landslide-prone areas are encouraged to stay vigilant during periods of heavy rainfall. Fisherfolk and small boat operators are also reminded to check sea conditions before heading out.
