TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental — Two suspected drug users were arrested before dawn in Barangay Sugbongcogon after authorities spotted an unusual Facebook post—an online “SOS” where one of the suspects claimed they could no longer “finish” the shabu they had allegedly been using.

Police said the two, who are related by blood, had just taken shabu when one of them, seemingly under the influence, went on Facebook and posted a strange plea for help about the remaining drugs they supposedly could not consume. The post quickly caught the attention of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Tagoloan Municipal Police Station.

Acting on the inadvertent confession, operatives immediately launched a buy-bust operation in Zone 6, leading to the arrest of the two suspects. Confiscated from them were approximately 6.5 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱44,200.

The two are now detained and, according to investigators, deeply regretting their impulsive decision to publicize their “Shabu S.O.S” on social media.

Authorities remind the public that illegal drugs impair judgment—and as this case shows, sometimes so badly that users end up turning themselves in online.
