GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The City Housing and Land Management Office (CHLMO) has issued a strong public advisory warning residents against dealing with groups illegally selling land and housing units, amid renewed concerns over property scams that have repeatedly victimized buyers in the city in recent years.

In its advisory, CHLMO clarified that Kabulig Sang Pigado (KASAPI) and DNB Community Development Consultant Service, both operating in Barangay Conel, as well as the Eagle Summit Community in Barangay Bawing, are not authorized to sell any parcels of land or housing lots. Authorities stressed that these entities have failed to secure the required permits, clearances, and legal documents necessary to lawfully offer real property for sale.

City officials warned that the latest reports echo a long-standing pattern of housing and lot scams in General Santos City, where unscrupulous individuals and groups pose as legitimate real estate brokers or developers to lure unsuspecting buyers. In previous years, numerous families reportedly lost hard-earned savings after purchasing properties later found to be illegal, non-existent, or lacking proper land titles.

The CHLMO urged the public to remain vigilant and verify all land and housing transactions with the appropriate government offices before making any payments or signing documents. Authorities emphasized that due diligence is critical, especially as scammers often exploit the growing demand for affordable housing.

Residents who encounter suspicious property offers are encouraged to report them immediately to the CHLMO or other concerned offices to prevent further victimization. City officials reiterated that only sellers with complete legal authority and government approval should be trusted, reminding the public that caution is the best defense against falling prey to housing and lot scams.
