GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Two men were arrested following a buy-bust operation in Bulaong Extension, Barangay Labangal, General Santos City, on Monday night, August 31, 2026, resulting in the seizure of approximately 31.32 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱211,616 based on the National Standard Drug Price.

Police identified the arrested suspects as alias “Paul,” 44, a resident of Kiamba, Sarangani Province, and alias “Hanz,” 30, a resident of Barangay Labangal, General Santos City.
The operation was carried out at around 9:20 p.m. by personnel of the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 2 of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO).
According to the police report, the operation resulted in the recovery of one sachet of suspected shabu that was allegedly sold during the drug transaction.
Authorities also recovered additional sachets of suspected shabu from the two suspects.
From alias “Paul,” police reportedly confiscated six large sachets containing approximately 30.11 grams of suspected shabu. From alias “Hanz,” authorities recovered eight small sachets with an approximate combined weight of 1.01 grams.
Including the sachet involved in the alleged sale, the total confiscated substance was placed at approximately 31.32 grams, with an estimated National Standard Drug Price value of ₱211,616.
The seized items were turned over to the General Santos City Forensic Unit 12 for laboratory examination and appropriate forensic processing.
Police said complaints are being prepared against the two arrested men for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Section 5 covers the alleged sale, trading, administration, delivery, distribution, or transportation of dangerous drugs, while Section 11 covers the alleged possession of dangerous drugs.
The cases are set to undergo inquest proceedings, in accordance with the applicable legal process.
Following their arrest, the suspects were brought to the CPDEU-GSCPO Office for documentation and disposition. They also underwent medical examination before being transferred to the custodial facility of Police Station 2, GSCPO.
The operation underscores the continuing efforts of law enforcement authorities in General Santos City to target individuals allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade. However, the allegations against the suspects remain subject to the outcome of the investigation and judicial proceedings.
The arrested individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
