Parang, Maguindanao del Norte – A joint anti-drug operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Maguindanao del Norte led to the arrest of a high-value target early morning of November 25, 2025, in Barangay Sarmiento, Parang.

The suspect, identified as Ambie Bansil, 43, a local businessman, was apprehended around 5:00 a.m. following a buy-bust operation in which a police poseur-buyer purchased a sachet of suspected shabu from him.

Authorities confiscated two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 30 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱204,000, along with drug paraphernalia including an improvised glass “tooter.”

In addition to the illegal drugs, law enforcement seized an M4 rifle with three magazines and 89 live rounds, a .45 caliber pistol with magazine containing 11 bullets, 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one 7.62mm bullet, two Android phones, IDs, a sling bag, a magazine pouch, wallet, lighter, and a canister.

The operation was carried out by a composite team from PDEA Maguindanao del Norte with support from the Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit (LIU), Mobile Drug Squad (MDS), Local Drug Enforcement Units (LDS), Regional Intelligence Office (RIO), Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit PRO BAR, Provincial Intelligence Unit Maguindanao Del Norte, Regional Intelligence Unit 15, 1401st RMC RFMB 14A, Technical Support Company, PDEG SOU BARMM, and the Parang Municipal Police Station.

Bansil is now in PDEA custody while authorities prepare the corresponding charges against him for violations of Sections 5, 11, and 12 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

All confiscated items were properly documented, photographed, and secured in accordance with Section 21 of RA 9165, ensuring the integrity of evidence for legal proceedings.

PDEA continues to remind the public of its commitment to fight illegal drugs in the region and encourages citizens to support community-based efforts against narcotics.
