CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Two men were killed in a shooting incident that occurred at dawn in Sitio Pinikitan, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City. Authorities from Police Station 2 (Cogon) are conducting a thorough investigation and hot pursuit operation to identify and arrest the suspects behind the attack.
The victims were identified as Louisto Butra, alias “Bida-Bida,” a resident of Lawesbra, Agora, Barangay Lapasan; and another man known only as “Krong-Krong,” a resident of Barangay Kauswagan, both of legal age.
According to witnesses, three armed men wearing face masks were seen tailing the victims before cornering them near a house owned by a certain Embet. The victims reportedly tried to take refuge inside the house, but finding the door locked, they were trapped — and the suspects opened fire.
Residents reported hearing at least four gunshots during the incident. Crime scene investigators from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered three empty shells from a 9mm pistol and one shell from a .45 caliber pistol.
Police are now determining whether the incident is connected to illegal drugs or other personal motives. Authorities assured that pursuit operations are ongoing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
