SARANGANI PROVINCE — The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Sarangani has released an official statement following alarming allegations that two male teachers from a public high school in Glan reportedly molested six of their students — two of whom were allegedly impregnated.

According to initial reports, the alleged abuse began during the school’s acquaintance party where the students, all minors, were said to have been drinking alcohol in the company of one of the accused teachers from Pangyan National High School. The two teachers were later accused of engaging in inappropriate relationships with the students.

Parents of the victims have already reported the matter to the DepEd Division Office, though no formal case has yet been filed with the local police. One of the accused teachers is reportedly married to a fellow teacher, while the other is known as a church volunteer and musician in the municipality.

In its official statement, DepEd Sarangani stressed that it is treating the incident with “utmost seriousness,” emphasizing that the welfare and safety of learners remain its top priority.

“The Department of Education emphasizes that it does not, and will never, tolerate any form of abuse, exploitation, or misconduct involving learners,” the Division said.

DepEd Sarangani further assured the public that “prompt and appropriate action” was taken upon receiving the report, with the case already endorsed to the proper authorities for investigation and due process.

“The Division continues to extend its full cooperation with the concerned agencies to ensure that justice and accountability are achieved, while safeguarding the rights and welfare of all parties involved,” it added.

The Division also reaffirmed its commitment to make all schools within its jurisdiction “safe zones for learning,” vowing transparency and fairness throughout the ongoing investigation.

If proven guilty, the accused teachers may face dismissal from service and criminal charges for statutory rape and child abuse, as the victims are all minors.

The investigation is ongoing as DepEd Sarangani coordinates with law enforcement and child protection agencies to ensure justice for the victims and accountability for those responsible.
