LIBUNGAN, Cotabato — Authorities intensified their campaign against illegal drugs after law enforcement operatives dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested five individuals, including a High-Value Individual (HVI), during the implementation of search warrants in Libungan, Cotabato, on Monday, August 3, 2026.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of approximately 95.12 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱646,816.00, dealing a significant blow to the illegal drug trade operating in the municipality.
In addition to the suspected illegal drugs, authorities also recovered assorted drug paraphernalia believed to have been used in the operation of the alleged drug den.
Police said the inventory, marking, and documentation of the seized evidence were conducted at the scene immediately after the operation. The procedures were carried out in the presence of the mandatory insulating witnesses, ensuring compliance with the legal requirements under the country’s anti-illegal drugs law and preserving the integrity of the evidence for court proceedings.
The successful operation forms part of the continuing intensified anti-illegal drug campaign aimed at dismantling drug networks, apprehending high-value targets, and preventing the proliferation of prohibited substances in communities across the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.
Authorities have yet to release the identities of the arrested individuals pending the filing of appropriate criminal charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Acting Regional Director PBGEN Alan B. Manibog lauded the operating units for their effective coordination and commitment to suppressing illegal drug activities in the region.
“Ang matagumpay na operasyong ito ay malinaw na patunay na walang puwang ang mga drug den at mga nagtutulak ng ilegal na droga sa SOCCSKSARGEN. Patuloy nating palalakasin ang ating kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga upang maprotektahan ang bawat komunidad at matiyak ang kaligtasan ng ating mga mamamayan,” Manibog said.
The Philippine National Police continues to encourage the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement authorities by reporting suspicious drug-related activities, emphasizing that community participation remains a crucial component in the government’s sustained fight against illegal drugs.
The operation underscores the continuing efforts of authorities to dismantle organized drug operations and remove high-value drug personalities from communities, reinforcing the government’s commitment to creating safer and drug-free neighborhoods throughout the region.
