Mindanao residents are advised to brace for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported the presence of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) near Castilla, Sorsogon early Sunday morning.
As of 3:00 AM, the LPA was spotted at 13.0°N, 123.8°E. While it remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility’s (PAR) immediate concern for tropical cyclone development, its presence continues to influence weather conditions across Southern Philippines.
PAGASA’s Mindanao office (MINPRSD) said the region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Residents are warned of possible flash floods and landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms.
