CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Police arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and her companion in a buy-bust operation that yielded over ₱4.1 million worth of suspected shabu and a firearm in Barangay Lapasan on Saturday, September 27.

The suspects were identified as alias “Jenny”, 42, and her companion alias “Jon-jon”, 32, both residents of San Lazaro, Lapasan.

At around 5:10 p.m., operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU-COCPO), together with the City Intelligence Unit (CIU-COCPO) and the Cagayan de Oro City Mobile Force Company (CMFC-COCPO), launched the operation that led to their arrest.

Authorities seized 15 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 610 grams with an estimated street value of ₱4,148,000. Also recovered were a revolver with three live rounds, a handbag, an android phone, a digital weighing scale, and two ₱1,000 bills used as buy-bust money.

Both suspects are now under CDEU-COCPO custody and will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Brigadier General Rolindo M. Suguilon, Regional Director of PRO-10, lauded the successful operation and assured the public of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) strong commitment in combating illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao.

“I commend the CDEU-COCPO for their dedication and swift action in apprehending this high-value target and her cohort. This accomplishment reflects the hard work, coordination, and vigilance of our personnel in the fight against illegal drugs,” Suguilon said.

He also called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, stressing that community cooperation is vital in sustaining the anti-drug campaign.
