General Santos City, Philippines – Two alleged high-value drug personalities were arrested in a successful anti-illegal drugs operation on the evening of July 29, 2025, in Barangay Labangal, General Santos City.
The buy-bust operation was led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sarangani Provincial Office, in coordination with the PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) and Police Station 2 of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO).
Authorities identified the suspects as a 31-year-old businesswoman known by the alias “Janima,” a resident of Lumbayanague, Lanao del Sur, and a 47-year-old tricycle driver known as “Randy,” from Barangay Tambler, General Santos City.
Seized during the operation were approximately 105 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value reaching hundreds of thousands of pesos, along with marked buy-bust money used in the sting.
Both suspects will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA Regional Office XII Director Benjamin C. Recites III emphasized the agency’s resolve to clamp down on the drug menace in the region.
“PDEA RO XII remains steadfast in its mandate to suppress the proliferation of illegal drugs in communities across the region. We continue to urge the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities to the proper authorities,” Recites said in a statement.
The operation forms part of PDEA XII’s intensified campaign aligned with the national government’s broader efforts to achieve a drug-free Philippines.
