TUPI, South Cotabato (August 6, 2025) — Authorities arrested a 34-year-old laborer during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bunao on Tuesday night, leading to the confiscation of an estimated ₱238,000 worth of suspected shabu.
The suspect, identified only as alias Ramil, a married resident of Purok 1 in the said barangay, was caught in an anti-drug operation conducted around 9:45 p.m. on August 5 by operatives from the Tupi Municipal Police Station.
According to police reports, Ramil sold illegal drugs to an undercover officer posing as a buyer. After the transaction, authorities seized 16 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 35 grams, drug paraphernalia, and other non-drug items.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Tupi Police and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The successful operation is part of the ongoing intensified campaign of the Philippine National Police against illegal drugs in the region.
