El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental — July 8, 2025 | 5:00 AM — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a regional weather forecast warning residents across Mindanao of scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), with potential flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
According to the Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD) of PAGASA, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and Sultan Kudarat are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms throughout the day, with moderate to at times heavy rainfall. The public is advised to stay alert for possible flooding and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao, including Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Caraga, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, still due to the influence of the Habagat.
