Mindanao, Philippines — July 7, 2025 (Monday) – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a weather forecast for Mindanao, valid from 5:00 PM today until 5:00 PM tomorrow, July 8. The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect large parts of the island, bringing scattered rains, thunderstorms, and the risk of flash floods and landslides in several areas, particularly in the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Zamboanga Peninsula

Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City are all experiencing cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the forecast period. Winds are light to moderate from the southwest to south, with coastal seas ranging from slight to moderate. Temperature highs reach up to 32°C.

Northern Mindanao

Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds are from the southwest to south with moderate seas. Camiguin and coastal provinces may experience temperatures up to 32°C.

Davao Region

Davao City, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds are light to moderate, with coastal conditions ranging from slight to moderate and daytime temperatures peaking at 32°C in most areas.

SOCCSKSARGEN

North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Temperatures in these areas are expected to range from 22°C to 32°C, with winds light to moderate and coastal seas slight to moderate.

Caraga Region

Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands are forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms. Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur may experience highs up to 34°C, with coastal waters slightly to moderately rough due to southwest to southern winds.

BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region)

Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. The public is warned of possible flash floods and landslides, especially in areas with moderate to heavy rains. Winds will remain light to moderate with slight to moderate coastal conditions.

  • Tawi-Tawi and Sulu may experience heavy downpours, while Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao provinces are expected to see temperature dips to as low as 21°C.

Residents, particularly those in flood- and landslide-prone areas in Zamboanga Peninsula and BARMM, are advised to stay alert for weather updates and to take precautionary measures. Seafarers and those living along the coast should be cautious due to moderate sea conditions.
