El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental (July 10, 2025) — Widespread rains and thunderstorms are expected to continue affecting much of Mindanao today, July 10, due to the influence of the Southwest Monsoon and a Low Pressure Area (LPA) spotted 540 km northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, according to the latest regional forecast from PAGASA.
The Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), SOCCSKSARGEN, and Davao Occidental are forecasted to experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, with potential flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao, including provinces in Northern Mindanao, Davao Region (excluding Davao Occidental), and Caraga Region, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms throughout the day and night.
Weather Conditions by Region and Province:
Zamboanga Peninsula
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will all experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 32°C.
BARMM
- Provinces including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are also forecasted to have cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms, with daytime highs of up to 32°C.
- Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with seas expected to be slight to moderate, posing risks for small vessels.
SOCCSKSARGEN
- North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani will experience similar rainy conditions with maximum temperatures ranging from 30°C to 32°C.
Davao Region
- Davao Occidental will have cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms, aligning with the general conditions across western Mindanao.
- Other provinces — Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Metro Davao — will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with possible isolated thunderstorms. Highs could reach 34°C in some areas.
Northern Mindanao
- Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental are under a partly cloudy to cloudy forecast with localized rainshowers. Maximum temperatures range between 30°C and 32°C.
Caraga Region
- Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will also experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies, with isolated thunderstorms possible by late afternoon or evening.
- Winds and sea conditions remain manageable but mariners are still advised to stay alert.
Advisory
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warns residents in low-lying and mountainous areas, especially in Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Davao Occidental, to remain vigilant for possible flash floods and landslides due to sustained rainfall.
All residents, especially in coastal and upland communities, are encouraged to regularly monitor local advisories and prepare for emergency response when necessary.
