Isabela City, Basilan – July 22, 2025 — Authorities in Isabela City are now conducting a hot pursuit operation following a violent hacking incident that left one man seriously injured in Barangay Tabuk.

According to initial police reports, the attack occurred in Sunset Village, Purok 8, around midday on July 22. The 31-year-old male victim, a resident of Isabela City, sustained multiple hacking wounds after a heated argument with another male individual reportedly turned violent.

Investigators said the confrontation stemmed from a dispute over a missing cellphone and money. The suspect allegedly drew a bladed weapon and inflicted several serious injuries on the victim before fleeing southward from the area.

Responding personnel from the Isabela City Police Station, led by the duty investigator, quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. His condition remains undisclosed as of press time.

The identity of the suspect has not yet been publicly released, but authorities confirmed that an intensive manhunt is underway.

Police are urging residents to remain alert and to report any information that could aid in the suspect’s swift arrest. “We call on the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious persons or activity in their communities,” the Isabela City Police Station stated in a public advisory.
