General Santos City — A man was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects around 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday in Purok 18, Block 6, Barangay Fatima.
The victim, identified by police as Jovito “Tata” Alquizar, a resident of Zone 7, Block 3 in the same barangay, was sitting inside his metallic grey Toyota Vios parked in front of a lying-in clinic when two men aboard a black sport-type motorcycle approached and shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Initial investigation by Police Station 7 revealed that Alquizar sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Barangay Calumpang but was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities are still working to identify the assailants and determine the motive behind the attack. The investigation is ongoing.
