GENERAL SANTOS CITY, June 12, 2026 — A construction foreman was killed in a brazen shooting incident early Friday morning along Mabuhay Road Cross Lane near the Diversion Road in Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City, alarming residents and prompting an intensive police investigation.

The victim was identified as Albert Quintola, a construction foreman who was reportedly on his way to work when he was gunned down at around 7:00 a.m.
According to initial information gathered from witnesses, Quintola was traveling with a companion when the attack occurred in the vicinity of Habitat Phase A, Barangay Mabuhay. His companion told authorities that he only heard a single gunshot before seeing Quintola collapse.
Investigators said the lone bullet struck the victim at the back of the head, indicating a possible targeted attack. Quintola died on the spot from the fatal gunshot wound.
Residents in the area were shocked by the sudden burst of violence, especially as the shooting happened during the morning rush hour when many workers and commuters were heading to their destinations.
Police officers immediately responded to the scene and cordoned off the area to conduct a forensic examination and gather evidence that could help identify the perpetrator. Authorities have yet to determine whether the gunman acted alone or had accomplices waiting nearby.
Investigators are also reviewing possible CCTV footage from establishments and residences near the crime scene to trace the movements of the suspect before and after the shooting.
As of press time, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear. Authorities are looking into several angles, including personal grudges, work-related conflicts, and other possible motives.
The fatal attack adds to growing concerns over gun-related violence in the city, with residents calling on authorities to swiftly identify and apprehend those responsible.
Police have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses information that could aid the investigation to come forward and coordinate with law enforcement authorities.
The remains of Quintola were turned over to his family as investigators continue their pursuit of justice for the slain foreman.
“We will exhaust all efforts to identify and arrest the suspect behind this killing,” a police investigator said, assuring the public that the case remains a priority.
The investigation is ongoing.
