Cabanglasan, Bukidnon – May 23, 2025 — In a bid to counter the spread of fake news and promote government transparency, the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division (4ID) of the Philippine Army and the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 10 (DSWD-10) launched the Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon (3TI) Service and Information Caravan in Brgy. Canangaan, Cabanglasan, Bukidnon on Friday.
The activity, which also reached neighboring Brgy. Iba, aimed to raise public awareness about the dangers of misinformation while promoting official communication channels where residents can access accurate and up-to-date information, especially concerning various government programs and services.
Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., Commander of the 4ID, led the military contingent at the event alongside Brigadier General Seigfred C. Tubalado, Commander of the 403rd Infantry Brigade; Colonel Ricky L. Canatoy, OIC of 4ID’s Civil-Military Operations Office; and battalion commanders from Bukidnon-based units. The event was spearheaded by DSWD-10 under the leadership of Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen.
Cabanglasan Mayor Lolita N. Bullecer, along with barangay officials from Brgy. Canangaan and Brgy. Iba, also took part in the caravan, showing strong support for the initiative.
In his remarks, Maj. Gen. Anayron underscored the connection between reliable information and peacebuilding, saying that disinformation campaigns have long hindered development in conflict-affected and geographically isolated communities.
“As we continue to secure GIDAs and conflict-affected communities in our AOR (Area of Responsibility) and link significant programs and projects to these vulnerable areas, we will not allow false information or fake news to come in the way,” Anayron said. “It is part of our mission to be a source of accurate, timely, and relevant information for every Filipino as we strengthen national security and promote public trust.”
DSWD-10 Regional Director Jamen echoed these sentiments, stressing the agency’s commitment to reaching even the most remote areas with the correct information.
“We want to ensure that the right messages reach the farthest corners of our region, especially those that have long been marginalized or affected by conflict,” Jamen said.
In addition to information dissemination, DSWD-10 also provided basic services and assistance to residents, including Former Rebels under the care of the 403rd Infantry Brigade. The activity aimed to reinforce the government’s peace and reintegration efforts in Bukidnon.
The 3TI caravan is part of a broader initiative to protect vulnerable communities from disinformation and ensure that citizens are empowered to make informed decisions for their welfare and security.
